| Comfortable, rustic, early American. Our two-story lodge has ten guest rooms some with adjoining doors, all with private bathrooms. We have some theme rooms including our romantic Cary Grant room, elegant Mae West room, original Frankenstien - Boris Karloff room, and nostalgic John Wayne room. Downstairs relax with a book while resting your feet on the massive rock hearth. Next to Estray creek we have rustic cabins that sleep from 2 to 7 people. One and two bedroom cabins have queens, twins and bunk beds with private bathrooms and porch swings. |

| RECREATION |
|
Horseback riding is our main activity. Our unique progressive riding program emphasizes confidence and learning new skills in a safe, fun, and supportive environment. Ages 6 to adult can participate in our daily rides and lessons. Wee riders ages 3 to 6 enjoy pony rides in our Kiddie Corral program. Our wranglers are selected for riding skill, personality, and ability to work with all ages.
To accommodate all riders we offer four riding categories, based on age and experience. In each category wranglers teach skills appropriate for the group. Each day’s ride builds on the skills already learned. This is a low key, fun, challenging, but very safe way to ride. Trotting and loping is included in our riding program under careful guidance and supervision of our professional wrangler staff. Hiking and exploring are a guest favorite and other activities include: Guest rodeo events, karaoke, line or square dancing, frog races, softball, volleyball, fishing in our fully stocked trout pond, swimming in our heated pool, hiking, mountain biking, bon fire sing-alongs and roasting marshmallows around the campfire, to name just a few.

| Kids love the Greenhorn because they can play hard, learn some outdoor skills, and gain confidence. Parents love the Greenhorn because they know their kids are in a safe environment, always within earshot yet they can excersize a little independence. Kids can be engaged in activities all day between riding, fishing, softball and volleyball, even pequino - a fun card game like bingo with a little twist! The Wee Wrangler Program is designed to offer a pleasant, supervised playtime for youngsters, ages 3-5. Wee Wranglers enjoy pony rides, do cool nature crafts or visit the petting zoo under the watchful eye of a trained daycare provider. On site daycare provided |

There’s always plenty to eat at Greenhorn! We serve three hearty, family style meals in the Chuck house every day, including our famous bar-b-q cook-outs on the lawn and on the trail! We offer “kid friendly” foods such as home made mac and cheese, cowboy pancakes, and the best beans in the west! Indulge in our healthy salad bar with garden fresh vegetables, home made dressings and delicious hearty entrees served up family style. The chuck house is always open for fresh coffee, juices, fruit, and home baked cookies which are available throughout the day and evening. Beer, wine and soft drinks can be purchased at the saloon. Also, we personally accommodate special dietary needs of guests including; vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy free and specific food allergies. We carefully document all special dietary requests for your safety.

Our location provides a beautifully serene atmosphere that enables you to combine business and pleasure. Our facilities include: On site accomodations, including 10 lodge rooms(lodge has huge fire place downstairs) and 16 private cabins, nestled aside a seasonal creek. The Chuck house offers the best down home cookin' this side of the Rockies, outdoor BBQ and picnic areas. The Saloon, is also the Dance Hall, and Game room where we serve beer, wine & sodas. There are two stocked trout ponds and the poles are always ready to go. We have some exercise eqipment a heated pool,& guest laundry. Gifts and sundries are available in our Gift Shop. We offer wireless internet and there is a telephone in the lodge for public use with a calling card. Other business equipment and services are available so call us to discuss your media needs including LCD projector and screen.

| The Greenhorn Creek Guest Ranch has roots back to 1868 when the property was settled by the Penman family, pioneers who came from England in 1850. The ranch is located on 600 acres adjacent to the Plumas National Forest, where the majestic Sierra Nevada and Cascade mountain ranges meet. This spectacular and tranquil setting offers diverse and scenic riding on mountain and forest trails ranging from 4,000 to 7,000 foot elevations. The ranch facilities are nestled in a small valley surrounded by stately, tall Ponderosa Pines. Estray Creek flows through the ranch skirted by graceful cottonwoods and feeds two ponds that provide water for the horses and excellent trout fishing for the guests. Comfortable and relaxing, this outdoor oriented vacation spot offers lots of horseback riding, with adventures and challenges along the way. Greenhorn Creek Guest Ranch was established in 1962. Ralph & Trish Wilburn purchased the Ranch July 2000 and enjoy sharing their love of the old west with their guests.

| ITINERARY |
|
A day at the ranch...
Morning - For the Wranglers the day begins very early in the morning. Just when you'd be waking up to the smell of fresh brewed coffee, they're already driving the geldings down from the upper feed lot and into the corral. They are making sure each horse is fed, watered, saddled, happy, and ready for riding by the time you wander over to the Chuck house for a hot, Cowboy Breakfast. The Wranglers join you for breakfast and tell you what's in store for the day's ride.
After breakfast those that want to ride meet down at the corral to get mounted up. Before heading out there's a short riding lesson in the arena, adding to what you've learned on previous rides. After the lesson you select the riding group you want and head out on your ride. With our riding program we select the level of ride that best suits you, and chances are you'll stay with the same group of riders during your visit. Each ride is accompanied by several Wranglers, and you'll receive instruction before and during each ride.
Afternoon - We always make sure that you make it back to the ranch, or rendezvous at our favorite picnic spots, in time for a hearty western lunch. Then if you choose to continue riding in the afternoon, you'll ride a different trail and continue learning more riding skills. The afternoon ride gets back to the ranch in time for you to relax, swim, fish, play horseshoes, or just sit around and tell stories about the day's adventures. There might also be a softball or volleyball game.
Evening - Dinner comes soon enough when one of the Chuck house cooks rings the dinner bell and you sit down to a family style dinner alongside the Wranglers. After dinner there's more family fun with campfires, marshmallow roasting, cowboy poetry, singing, line dancing, karaoke, bingo, frog races and more! |
